Enabling iOS4 Multitasking and Home Screen Wallpaper on iPhone 3G/iPod Touch 2G

Monday, August 9th, 2010

Please note that this only applies to jailbroken iOS4 iPhone 3G/iPod Touch 2G.

To enable multitasking and the home screen wallpaper on these devices, follow these steps:

Home screen wallpaper and Multitasking on iPod Touch 8GB (MC Model)

1. Download iFile from Cydia. You need this app to edit the .plist file of your iPhone 3G/iPod Touch. 2. Launch iFile and go to /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app and look for either N82AP.plist (iPhone 3G) or N72AP.plist (iPod Touch).

3. Edit the file and look for the <key>capabilities</key> portion. Add the following tags inside the <dict></dict> tags:

<key>homescreen-wallpaper</key>
<true/>
<key>multitasking</key>
<true/>

4. For changes to take effect, respring or restart your device.

5. You’re done! In the example, I did not enable the multitasking feature since it really slows up my iPod. You can try it out though if you want. Hope this helps! :)

PS: To improve performance after enabling multitasking and the home screen wallpaper, rename the following files inside your device’s “/System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app” folder:

WallpaperGradientLandscapeBottomT.png
WallpaperGradientLandscapeTopT.png
WallpaperGradientPortraitBottomT.png
WallpaperGradientPortraitTopT.png
WallpaperIconDockShadow. png
WallpaperIconDockShadowT .png
WallpaperIconShadow.png
WallpaperIconShadowT.png

Respring/restart your iPhone/iPod to apply the changes. I renamed the PNGs on my iPod Touch to .bak (e.g. WallpaperGradientLandscapeBottomT.png.bak)

Money troubles…

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog entry. What have I been doing for the past two months? Well… I’ve added new stuff to our forum, lent a hand on a team project at work, update my resume, gone to job interviews… Yes. I’ve been entertaining job offers. Now why would I do that? I’m broke, that’s why. I want need this since I am not getting enough. I do wish I could get a new job soon. One that would compensate me well… :(

Toothache

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

It’s been a week already since my 2nd molar was acting up. I went to Medical Plaza yesterday to have my aching tooth checked by the dentist. I was really hoping that a dental filling (pasta) would do, but I was told that I only have two choices… either perform a root canal on it or it be extracted. It leaves me no choice but to have it extracted since a root canal is really expensive… (around 15k, or 5k/session).

I’m really worried since this is only the second time that I will undergo a tooth extraction. I hope everything goes well this Friday…  :(

NBC’s Chuck

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

Chuck is a US television show from creators Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak. The show revolves around Chuck Bartowski, an average guy working at a Buy More, who receives an encoded email message from college friend Bryce Larkin. Unbeknownst to Chuck, the picture-encoded message actually contains all of the government’s secrets and upon reading the email, the encoded message is downloaded into his brain. I must admit.. I am hooked watching this show! It’s got all! Action, comedy, drama…

Currently on its third Season, Chuck stars Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, and Adam Baldwin. It airs locally Saturdays/8PM on SolarTV. I am looking forward for a fourth season pick-up from NBC… :)

Jejemon!

Friday, April 16th, 2010

According to urbandictionary.com, “jejemons” are…

….Usually seen around social networking sites such as Friendster and Multiply, jejemons are individuals with low IQs who spread around their idiocy on the web by tYpFing LyK diZS jejejeje, making all people viewing their profile raise their eyebrows out of annoyance. Normal people like you and me must take a Bachelor of Arts in Jejetyping in order to understand said individuals, as deciphering their text would cause a lot of frustration and hair pulling.CAUTION: THESE INDIVIDUALS ARE BREEDING! THEY CAN BE SEEN WRECKING GRAMMATICAL HAVOC ON FACEBOOK TOO!

….are not just confined to trying-hard Filipino gangsters and emos. A Jejemon can also include a variety of Latino-Hispanic fags who enjoy typing “jejejejeje” in a wider context, much to the disdain of their opponents in an internet MMORPG game such as Ragnarok and DOTA

…are basically anyone with a low tolerance in correct punctuation, syntax and grammar. Jejemons are usually hated or hunted down by Jejebusters or the grammar nazi to eradicate their grammatical ways.

Example

On AIM or YM:

miSzMaldiTahh111: EoW pFuOh!

You: Huh?

miszMaldiTahh111: i LLyK tO knOw moR3 bOut u, PwfoH. crE 2 t3ll mE yur N@me? jejejejeje!

You: You are a jejemon! Don’t talk to me, you uneducated retard!

miszMaldiTahh111: T_T

Why do “jejemons” enjoy typing in this manner? I don’t understand why they even bother typing in alternating uppercase/lowercase letters. It only causes confusion to the reader. I, for one, do not enjoy reading “jejes” (I hate… and i do mean hate it!). So if you’re a jejemon, don’t even bother talking to me…

Where are my Payslips?

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

It’s already been a week since I followed up from our HR Payroll department. I called up Ms. Mayette (from Payroll) for the Nth time today but I was told that my payslips were already sent to our floor last Monday. I was also told to ask the Mr. Glen (messenger from HR) when and to whom he left them.

A few minutes later, Mr. Glen called up. He told me that they are already with our clerk (Ms. Fiona) so I asked Ms. Fiona where my payslips are but she told me she hasn’t received any. Where the hell did my payslips go? God…
